Belgian gays grant reprieve to Beenie, Sizzla and Shabba

GAY and transgender organisations in Belgium have promised to end their protest at Reggae concerts featuring acts who are known to have recorded songs bashing their lifestyle. The commitment was made in a joint statement between gay and transgender organisations, the promoters of reggae concerts and reggae festivals and the reggae community in Belgium, days after Beenie Man issued a video recording apologising for his anti-gay songs and admitting that he respected all human beings.

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada — Former Senator Arley Gill is reported to be unemployed, two weeks after Grenada’s Prime Minister Tillman Thomas said he had offered him a new job as an ambassador.

Gill, who is public relations officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was first appointed to the Upper House of Parliament in 2003 following the party’s narrow 8 – 7 general election loss to the New National Party.

He chaired most of the NDC’s public meetings in the election campaign of 2008. After the party’s victory and ascension to government office, he was reappointed a senator by Thomas, leader of the NDC.

ST. GEORGE, GRENADA, MAY 17, 2012_Prime Minister Tillman Thomas on Thursday has accepted the resignation of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Karl Hood.

The Prime Minister thanked Mr. Hood for his service to the government of Grenada over the past three and a half years and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Prime Minister Thomas continues to be focused on fulfilling the commitment he gave to the people of Grenada, who elected him to serve and his pledge to implement government projects announced in September last year.

We are sad to report the passing of Entertainer extraordinaire Ms. Donna Summer! TMZ.COM is reporting that the singer died today from lung cancer. Her family released a statement, saying, that they are at peace, celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. “Words truly can’t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time.”

Donna was a 5-time Grammy winner who shot to superstardom in the ’70s with iconic hits like “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff” and “Bad Girls.” Ms. Summer was 63 years old!

A new breakthrough in the Trayvon Martin Case. FBI Wants To Charge Zimmerman With Hate Crime

A new breakthrough in the Trayvon Martin case could be a positive indication that George Zimmerman won’t get off for killing the teen boy as many suspect. As you know, the FBI has been conducting their own investigation into the shooting death that occurred Feb. 26, and ABC reports that the bureau plans to pursue a hate crime charge against the neighborhood watchman.

Zimmerman has already been charged with second-degree murder which could garner a maximum sentence up to life in prison if he’s convicted. With the hate crime charge, his sentence could be escalated to the death penalty. That is, if the prosecution can prove he intentionally went after Trayvon and shot and killed him because he is black.

Bloody: Yekaterina Pusepa was discovered on a Manhattan sidewalk sobbing and covered in blood

A woman was arrested for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend during a heated argument in the early hours of Friday morning.

Yekaterina Pusepa was led handcuffed from the grisly scene in tears, her white T-shirt, jeans and arms covered with the blood of her injured boyfriend, Alec Katsnelson.

She was pictured on the sidewalk outside her New York home sobbing as she was led away from the scene of the crime.

Several police officers were called after the couple’s loud arguing disturbed neighbours in the middle of the night.

Pusepa wept in court on Saturday when she was charged with attempted murder and second-degree assault, but she did not speak during the hearing

Caribbean Airline considering flights to Panama

Caribbean Airlines could soon be flying directly into Panama.

Panamanian President Alberto Martinelli promised yesterday during his address at the Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF), Trinidad Hilton, St Ann’s yesterday that his country’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will allow the State-owned carrier a licence to fly into Panama.
